*****FRIDAY GIVEAWAY!!!!!*****

*****Update***** Winner anounced on 8th October
There is nothing that excites me quite like getting mail in the post. When I first started my own business, getting a PO Box was possibly one of the most exciting things I did. Don't worry, I have joined a support group. When You Love Getting Mail So Much You Become A Little Bit Crazy (WYLGMSMYBALC). It's working. But when I check it now, it's still a little bit like Christmas! Writing a note is always lovely too, there's something so sincere and genuine about it. Popping it in the big red post box and then waiting a day or two to see if it arrives safely at its destination, hopefully bringing some mail box excitement to your loved one.
Therefore, my dear readers, it is quite obvious as to why I should be so excited about this giveaway! A beautiful box of 'xoxo' notecards from French Navy for one lucky winner to be chosen next Friday! There are lots of exclamation points here! My mail box excitement and my giveaway excitement are mingling to form HUGE excitement!! Mailaway excitement! If you will!
All you have to do is leave a little comment detailing your loveliest note, received or sent. Mine shall remain private*, but DO share! There has never quite been anything like a good love note. No siree. This one is for Australian residents only, but for the lovely internationals...we'll have one soon!
You've got until next Thursday night to enter my lovelies...better get cracking! And enjoy the weekend...I'm off to a wedding! xx

ps - check out the other beautiful paper treats on offer at the delightful French Navy store. See if you can resist...I dare you!

* 'Our relationship is both wonderful and weird. I'm wonderful, you're weird.'

  1. Aaaw but we internationals living in Aus are the ones that need the letters the most to keep in contact with those far far away! At least there is always Pentimento stocked full of lovely notes and cards to buy!

  3. So cute!

The loveliest note I received was from my boyfriend, he just came back from a health check up and gave me the print out of his heart beat with a little note on the back saying "My heart is in your hands"

  4. When I worked an account management job at an accounting firm, I was involved with the marketing project from hell. Anyway the event and collateral all got organised and it went well, despite the dramas. I received a handwritten letter from the regional partner saying what a great job I had done, and how successful the event was. I still keep it to this day !

  5. My best note was from my husband, then boyfriend, who wrote 'I look at the moon each night before I go to bed, it reminds me of you, perfect in every way, and from this day forward, whenever you look at the moon, you will be reminded how much I love you'.
I married him...........and I love him so much 16 years later.

  6. The loveliest note I've ever received was from my husband who is a rough 'n' tumble tradie who's not really a 'wordsmith' - but he bought me a beautiful necklace from Tiffany's (I know!) and on the little card that comes with it he'd simply had printed "For my Nic" which is so simple and so perfect. I kept for a little frame to hang by my side of the bed. Nicolexx

  7. I've received some wonderful letters from my husband (bless him) but the loveliest note of all was from my mother in law in Ireland after I had my first baby, her first grandson. She told me she loved how happy I made her son, how much she loved having me for a daughter in law and what a wonderful Mum I was going to be. Maybe it was all the hormones running rampant in my body at the time, but I was so moved I cried. Actually it probably was the hormones because I did cry at a lot of things around that time, like.... adverts for fabric softener

  8. Yay well my best note was definitely when I was overseas and in a long distance relationship with my Aussie boyfriend of only a couple of months. I was a bit glum because Valentine's day was coming up BUT I received a lovely surprise package that week with a beautiful diary and a note saying how he missed me! It made my whole week. Needless to say we are still happy together!

  9. I am a school teacher and my love note comes from a former year 12 student. She wrote "when I started in year 7 i was placed in the remedial class, with little confidence in my ability and little self esteem. Today I graduate dux of English something I never dreamed I could do".
I don't keep this note on my desk with the other notes I get from students, this one I keep in my draw at home and when I've had a bad day and I think that I am wasting my days, i pull it out and read it and remind myself that I am a good teacher.

  10. The best note I received was from my boyfriend (now husband) on his first deployment overseas (actually his second, but 'our' first). He was going away for 4 months, and I was quite upset after dropping him off. When I got back home there were flowers waiting for me with a note that said "Because I love you." That's pretty much when I knew I was going to marry him! :)

  13. oh I LOVE French Navy. Such simple gorgeous paper stationery. I'm a paper & stationery nerd too and I love when I receive or send out a beautiful card and the feel of paper texture.

I collect all my handwritten letters in a little box at home. Right from around 15 years ago when I lost my toy as a little girl and I cried every night about it. The cleaner at the holiday apartment (though to this day I'm pretty convinced it was my auntie) wrote me a very nice letter to say sorry and replaced it with a new toy.
