hello in there...

I'm not sure how I missed these guys before, but have a look at the loveliness that is Hello in There! Gorgeous fabrics hand sewn into the coolest ties and bow ties that will look excellent, all the time. If I were a man, I'd buy one (or three) straight away!

Check out the website, blog, or facebook page to keep up with the goings on of this Scottish designer.

gorgeous freya...

Hello there my bloggy friend! I wanted to share with you the loveliness that is Freya Art & Design. Now, I am fully aware that you may be sitting there, already aware of the sweet designs and gorgeous colours that had me leaving one boutique with handfuls of cards, but I wanted to make sure you knew! Seriously, try walking into a shop filled with these designs without buying them ALL.

I can always convince myself to buy cards. It seems there is never a nice one around when you need it, so when I stumble across a card I really love, I snap it up. Inevitably our card box (yes, we have a card box) never has the right occasion of card in it, so I need to find one elsewhere anyway - but NEVER AGAIN! Being an Etsy seller myself (*cough cough*), I have resolved to buy more from talented folks hand-making their lovely goods.

Really, what I'm saying is, you can buy Freya cards and save the world at the same time! GENIUS! Try it. You'll get happy shopping endorphin's that are twice as good as normal!

summer time soirees...

I don't want to alarm you, but there might be a miracle afoot.
It is warm.
In Summer.
In Scotland.
And so while this phenomenon is taking place RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR, I feel it time to acknowledge something I have long denied. Here it is...

Our flat is too small for parties containing more than approximately 6 people.

Now I sit here dreaming of tables laden with Summer fresh produce, baked goods and prettily presented drinks...that can sit 6 or more people. I imagine the day when I'll be able to picnic in my own backyard - OH the blankets we'll have! And I drift away to thoughts of dinner parties tinkling late into the night, fairy lights in trees and jazz muted in the background.

I must confess, right now we have a backyard which is fairly spectacular in view, and believe you me, I am not (no siree) complaining. So for now, we shall have wee parties of 4 (let's go wild and say 6!) and enjoy them to all our hearts content! Husbando will without even knowing the plan...let's be honest, his focus is the food.

But in the meantime, let's continue to plan the prettiest of soirees, laden with cakes with fresh frosting, fresh flowers (good alliteration here no?!) smelling sweet, and company the loveliest of them all!

ps - I'm assuming it'll be rainy and cold again by tomorrow, but we think positively! x
