My favourite...

Oh Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night, of our dear Saviours birth
Long lay the world, in sin and error pining
Till He appeared, and the Spirit felt its worth
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees! Oh hear the angels voices!
Oh night divine, oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine, Oh night, oh Night Divine!

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother
And in His name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy, in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His Holy name
Christ is the Lord! Oh praise His name forever!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory, ever more proclaim!
My favourite carol of all time. Closely followed by Judy Garlands 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'. But this one one for me is perfectly what Christmas is about.
Merry Christmas my lovely readers! May you be blessed with love, peace and joy, and have a wonderfully merry Christmas!

I'll be back blogging in a wee while, and be prepared for it to be all about the wedding. 4 weeks and 3 days today! But who's counting...

mistletoe...

We've lost our mistletoe. Tis a Christmas disaster. The first year I have someone to kiss under the mistletoe, and it's gone. But don't fret. Next year, when I have my first white Christmas (weeeeeeee!!!), I can buy mistletoe in bulk and never. run. out. Ever.
It'll be the best Christmas ever.

these are a few of my favourite things!

Oh the smell of fruit cake soaking in its yummy sherry! Although walking through the shopping centre with a huge bottle of sherry in its brown paper bag did provoke a few judgemental stares. I do believe, however, if I'd started yelling manically I would have possibly provoked more. It's for the Christmas cake the CHRISTMAS CAKE!!!! But then the cake being baked slowly and wrapped in newspaper to cool. Tis one of my favourite things about this time of year! I LOVE fruit cake! Taste's like Christmas, you see. And the best part is, I get one for my wedding too! Christmas till the end of January! I don't see how this could get any better...

I suppose there's always rocky road, mince pies, shortbread, cherries...

And just in time for Christmas! The gorgeous EmmyRose Stationery has just released all of these delicious new treats for your every whim! Lovely thank you notes, party invitations and loads more, as well as gorgeous twine and beautiful wedding invitations. Having just spent the weekend at Finders Keepers this is definitely one talented lady who would love to say hello! Pop by the online store over at EmmyRose to see all the lovely little paper goodies you can spoil your friends with!
Also. Can we all please cross our fingers and toes that Glasgow airport stays open so the boy can get here in 3 sleeps? A volcano is one thing, a volcano scare second time round another, but now a snow storm? My GOSH!

the music...

Nothing quite like a good Christmas music mix! This is one of my new discoveries (Zee Avi...check out her other stuff...it's swell), but we've got Ella's Swinging Christmas, Mariah Carey, Amy Grant, the list goes on and on. And I love nothing more than sitting in front of Harold*, watching his lights twinkle, and listening to a lovely Christmas song. Christmas cookies are quite good too. Whats on your song list?

oh how I love Christmas!!!

Yesterday, Dad and I hiked through grassy fields that were covered in mud (note to self, when it has been raining and mud is a possibility, do not wear your havaianas. Something more sturdy would suit...) to chop down our carefully selected glossy and bushy Christmas tree! He's perfect, I've named him Harold. We listened to carols and ate spice cookies as we put the tree up! Oh how I LOVE Christmas time! And the best part is we get to send out cards like THESE from the gorgeous Little Paper Pantry! Head on over to their website or facebook page to order some of these tasty treats...you're friends and family will love them! Is it bad if I order some just to keep for myself? No? Excellent.
