heart shaped goodness...

Happy days! We discovered a Le Creuset outlet store, and I will say this, it was wonderful. AND! You can buy heart shaped things!!!! All KINDS of heart shaped things!!! To then make heart shaped treats with!! The excitement is palpable. And I know you know, brownies in our household will forever more be in the shape of a love heart.

Lovely!

ps - I've just looked out my window and it's snowing!!! Real, big, fat, white, flaky drops of snow!!! It's so pretty! And you have to think, for ice to be falling from the sky, it must be a touch nippy. Hello?! Below my knees?!! Are you there??!

pps - apologies for the sheer number of exclamation points. Heart shaped dishes as well as snow have a tendency to do that to me. Put the two together, it's exclamation point madness!

a lovely home purchase

Goodmorning my lovely readers!! I have a question for you. It's a really exciting question. You may need to sit down. Are you ready? Ready!
Is this not some of the most lovely looking tea you've ever seen??! And I hear you say, 'but Nicola, Nicola...is it not important that the tea taste good?', to which I reply, 'My dear reader, not only does this tea look delightful, come in a wonderfully papery and pretty box, making us all happy with it's delightful fair trade tag, it tastes delicious too!'. To which I hear you reply, 'Woo!'. Which just by the by also rhymes.
And I agree!! Woo! Have some today*!
xx
check out Clipper teas over here. They're splendid.
* They're not paying me.
ps - my feet are warmer today. I brought out the thermals...

wedding gift list goodies...

Our main adventure today was to Ikea, and what and adventure it was! We bought loads of goodies to make our home home-ier (and much more Swedish), but more on that later! On the the way to Ikea, we stopped of at Debenhams to choose ourselves a gift of our wedding list from our most wonderful Nanna. I'm fairly sure I've mentioned her before, but she is excellent. Not only for her talents and boundless love and creativity and sense of humour, but also because she most excellently bought us this teacup and saucer and cake stand from the Cuckoo Wedgewood collection! Excellent choosing Nanna!

Other things purchased to today...some cosy throws, some wonderful pantry/storage cupboard-y whatsits that we're currently on our way home to put together (I've high hopes at this stage), some lovely little blue bottles, a white hydrangea plant (from Ikea! Bizarre but I'll take it!) and loads more! I'm running out the door so I shall finish with some imporant facts from today.

1. My toes have been cold all day. All day.
2. Ikea makes me hungry.
3. We are now set to drive home with wooden planks surrounding my head in what is a very small car crammed with large-ish furniture. Therefore, no flailing of limbs. Splinters, you see.
4. I need to buy more thermal socks from Primark.
5. My toes are still cold.
6. Setting up home is fun!

Love to you all, I'm off to find my allen keys...

starting a new collection...

It ocurred to me as I was packing my life away in teensy suitcases that none of my wonderfully romantic romantic comedies would be happy in a UK dvd player. This was crushing. Not in a 'I broke my leg' way, but in a 'my ice cream is melting on my pants' way. I know. Horrific.

BUT! Gran came to the rescue with a handy amazon voucher and as I happily snuggled in under many (many) layers last night, I let my hair go and bought a splendid selection of movies that will make it feel like home no matter where I am. On my list? One Fine Day, While You Were Sleeping, He's Just Not That Into You, Lost In Austen, When Harry Met Sally, Pride and Prejudice. A small selection but a goody I feel. Coming up next? What Happens in Vegas, Whip It, Sleepless In Seattle, The Princess Bride, and Amelie. And we're still a-looking. And Friends! All 10 seasons, yes siree!

Now! I'm of to make dinner for the boy! I'm thinking leftovers. Definitely.
