I stood there for an eternity, billowing piles of hearts covering my feet, my ankles, my knees. When a gust of wind came rolling down the street, my breath stopped in alarm, for I wasn't ready for this moment to finish. My heart was yet to heal. But even as I had this thought, as the hearts began to shift, as the colours began to reflect the light and bounce into shades unheard of till now, I knew the best was yet to come. They filled the air, they filled the air with music unheard, with colours unseen, and with gay abandon. I lifted my arms and my face towards the fluttering sky, amongst the mess of reds that swirled around and around, lifting my hair and brushing softly against my face. As my eyes closed, and the wind picked up, I could feel the love hearts, whipping against me in the softest way. It was exhilarating. I felt alive, I felt joy!
The wind eased, and I opened my eyes, a smile cheering up my tearful eyes. And they were gone. Gone forever. Yet I did not feel sad, I did not feel blue. I noticed, under my old leather boot, a tiny little red something flapping in the soft breeze. I bent down to investigate, and found the smallest heart of all. This love, this great love, had not left me. It had left part of itself. And as I tucked it in my pocket, close to my heart, I returned to my path, with all the joy one can possess. For this love, this great love, had returned my missing piece.

There is a rather hugemongous wedding I shall be applying my hand to this weekend, but before I dash off, here's our beauty spot, short and sweet. It's the rubyandjoy headpiece shoot! The pics are hereeeeeee! Doesn't get much more exciting than that! Well. It does. But for now, when my head feels stuffed with cottonballs, it pretty much takes the cake. Mm. Cake.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Perhaps stay inside to avoid looking like you decided to sit in the oven for an afternoon.

Possible the cutest little lovebirds I have ever seen. And I have seen, well, not that many, but enough to qualify me as someone who likes lovebirds. Darn. Where's a lovebird expert when you need one!?
Ok. Is it just me or do these two look like models? Gorgeous wedding models? Ohh there are so many more photos to flip through in this gorgeous wedding, I wish I could put them all up! Make sure you yodel your admiration to one of our favourite snappers (more in a photographic sense, less the fish) Tec Petaja whilst wearing your best clogs. To add to my list of things to find...a field brimming with brightly coloured wildflowers. So sweet! Although horses frighten me. Perhaps a field brimming with brightly coloured wildflowers, less the large toothy beasts. Yes. That would be quite lovely!

Hello my lovelies! Happy Monday and all! I myself was woken to the dulcet tones of barking dogs which, just between you and me, I could listen to for hours! BUT I pulled myself from my blissful wakening back into the real world after a weekend of birthday fun, only to discover being MIA for approximately 2.6 days is equivalent in the online world to 2.6 years. Good times. So before I bore you with stories of painfully awkward situations (woops already done THAT!), falling over, short skirts, Heritage Hotels and strange Irish men, I'd best dive back into my to-do list with the ferocity of a squirrel with a new found nut.

Something I've been wanting to post up here for quite some time now are these shoes (it's a very exciting time, there will be exclamation marks)! I love them! You might even say, I heart them! Which is really just the same thing, and I'm too technologically challenged to actually make a heart, so I probably could have just stuck with 'I love them'. But before we get bogged down in the details (close call), I have exciting news! Previously based in the US, Spiro Creations are relocating to New Zealand! That's near us! Woo! Now, I would never suggest this has something to do with being closer to the homeland of lovelyprettycheerythings, but perhaps it has something to do with being closer to the homeland of lovelyprettycheerythings?
All the details are absolutely gorgeous which we lurve for Summer, as with all the soft floaty fabrics and prints. Perfect for Summer garden parties, le wedding, your next cocktail function or the grocery shopping*! Next time you pop into their super lovely Paddington boutique, feel free to send me one of their lovely frocks. I'm not fussy. Any will do. I'll thank you with my eternal gratitude. Not too shabby eh?!
Don't be shy, swing by the Rose & Ruby store at 5 William St, Paddington, or have a sneak peek online at their super sweet frocks.
*Not really. Unless you shop in a super fancy Woolies that has carpeted aisles and friendly leprechauns that push your trolleys. In which case I'd say maybe you're having an Irish themed grocery dream and should wake up immediately, lest the small green men try and force mountains of tatties in your trolley, which would just be inconvenient.
